The British High Commission in India is set to offer 3000 visas under its India Young Professional Scheme through a ballot system which will start from Tuesday. They have shared the details about the same via a social media X post (formerly known as Twitter). Read on to learn every detail about the same.
The X Post said, “The first ballot of the #IndiaYoungProfessionalsScheme opens in less than 24 hours! If you’re a graduate who wants to live, work or study for up to 2 years, you can enter the ballot for a chance to apply for a visa.”

What It Is About?
The United Kingdom is offering 3000 visas to Indian citizens under its India Young Professionals Scheme through a ballot system. In this ballot system, candidates will get two days to apply. The ballot will be open from 2:30 pm IST on February 20, 2024, to 2:30 pm IST on February 22, 2024. The entry in the ballot system is free.
As per the UK Government website, “There are 3,000 places available for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa in 2024. Most places will be made available in the February ballot. The remaining places will be made available in the July ballot".
Here’s How It Works?
The Indian graduates who are interested in exploring life in the UK can try their luck on this ballot. As per the UK Government’s Instructions, eligible Indian candidates will have to provide the following details to enter the ballot:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Passport (what is e-passport) details
- A scan or photo of your passport
- Phone number
- Email address
Also, applicants must ensure that they meet the educational, financial and other requirements to apply for the visa.

Once you enter the ballot the candidates will be picked randomly. The results will be sent to the selected candidates within two weeks of the ballot closing. The selected candidates will get 90 days from the date of the selection email to apply for the visa online. To apply for the visa, applicants will have to pay the visa (visa free travel in thailand) application fee including the immigration health surcharge.
