What does your Indianness and contemporary ethnic dressing mean to you?

Sonam Bajwa says, “Firstly, I would consider myself a young contemporary woman and I love my culture. To me, it means that I fully accept my culture, but also be very well versed with what's happening in today's society. That's what it means to me, and to find a balance where I do not forget where I come from, but also live in this modern world where you are working and you are going all out, but yet sticking to the roots. I can't say on behalf of everybody, but for me personally it means staying true to myself, my roots, my culture, but yet being in this world and trying to learn, grow and evolve.

Sonam Bajwa's Contemporary Indian Dressing Style Tips:

  • She further speaks about her contemporary Indian dressing saying, “This is what shines through in my dressing as well, which is a reflection of my roots; but is expressed with a contemporary modern Indian spin."
  • She adds, "So each time I wear the traditional Indian ‘salwar kameez’; I pair it with a pair of heels or elegant gold and diamond jewellery in designs meant for today’s young ladies. This aptly expresses my sartorial choices which mirrors my age old roots and contemporary self at the same time.”
