HerZindagi in collaboration with Maharashtra State Tourism Department recently embarked on a journey to explore Junnar, a hidden gem near the bustling city of Pune for the Hindavi Swarajya Mahotsav 2024 ahead of the 394th Birth Anniversary of the revered Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Accompanied by journalists, influencers, and tour operators, the expedition aimed to unveil the Junnar's unique attractions and experiences.

Highlights From Hindavi Swarajya Mahotsav 2024

With an intent to make Junnar widely recognised on a global scale, Maharashtra State Tourism Department inaugurated the tent city, adventure zone, heritage walk, food, and art district among other initiatives in Junnar.

Inauguration Of Adventure Zone

The Adventure Zone, launched by Shri. Dhaneshsheth Sancheti of Junnar Education Society offered multiple thrilling experiences from ziplining to paramotoring to jet skiing.

Inauguration Of Heritage Walk

Team HerZindagi got to immerse themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of Junnar. The heritage walk included exploring historical sites, monuments, and landmarks, to make tourists gain insights into Junnar's traditions, customs, and architectural heritage.

Inauguration Of Art And Food District

The art and food district at the Bhutte Patil Ground, Junnar extended local art and culinary experiences to the visitors. The art district highlight being performances by local artists portraying the valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a visual spectacle.

Inauguration Of Tent City And Water Sports

Offering the perfect break from conventional hotels, Junnar's tent city is not only a unique experience but also a step towards eco-tourism. The tents are set amidst the hills, just next to the Wadaj dam. To ensure adventure enthusiasts make the most of their visit, water activities like kayaking, jet skiing, and boating were planned.

This was the second edition of the Mahotsav held in Junnar. The three-day festivities will continue till February 19, 2024.
